My girlfriend and I stopped at Sunshine Bagel on one of our regular Sunday biking trips up A1A from Pompano Beach. The owners were working the counter and kitchen and greeted us as we walked in the door with smiles and warmth. The place was fairly empty, so we were attended to right away. This is the kind of place where you order your food at the counter, and then go sit down anywhere you want. The place was exceptionally clean and the TV was tuned to Sunday NFL. The food selection was nicely varied reminiscent of small delis in the Northeast. I ordered something off the specials board rather than the menu... the eggs benedict with corned-beef hash. I think it was called the Irish Breakfast. It was a lot of food for the money, and was prepared nicely. My first impression of the taste was that it was simple and honest flavors of the basic ingredients; there were no overwhelming spices or off-putting tastes that sometimes come from smaller busy kitchens. It needed a little salt and black pepper, but outside of that, it stood well on its own. The hollandaise seemed fresh and the egg yolks were perfect. I sopped up everything on the plate with the English muffin. There were several things on the menu and in the pastry counter that I wanted to try, so we'll be back. In summary, this place is convenient, clean, serves good food with a nice attitude.

i loved this bagel shop. even though we did not order bagels, what we did order was terrific! hubby had the philly cheese steak sandwich. it was one of the best he's ever had. the fries were good, as well. i explained to the gal that i would like to have tuna, but couldn't eat the bread, could they 'do' a tuna melt w/no bread? and instead of fries, do they have fresh fruit? she told me they could do a tuna melt sans bread, and they did have fresh fruit. omg, i almost cried with delight and joy when i saw my breadless tuna melt and the dish of truly fresh fruit - honeydew, grapes, pineapple, kiwi, it was delicious! and she was johnny-on-the-spot with my soda refills! kudos to sunshine bagels!

Had 2 great breakfasts here this past week. Service was attentive and quick on the coffee refills. My omelette was perfectly cooked with a nicely crunchy side of hash browns. Great location to watch the bikers on A1A and walk over to the park.

These guys rock for breakfast. Staff is friendly and the prices are good. Right up the street from my house can't say anything bad about them

We came in and the place was empty,....we were not acknowledged and just sat ourselves,...another family came in after us and their order was taken before ours and their food came out much before ours did. It was unfortunate because we had passed this place on our way to the beach several times and I had been fantasizing that this place was going to be our new breakfast/lunch spot...but no way my fiancé will every let us go back.. The food was ok,..nothing to write home about. :( And the name "sunshine bagel" implies that the people inside will be sunny and happy but that is not the case. Perhaps we went when the girls behind the counter had a bad day or something but I doubt we'll give it a second chance.

My credit card was overcharged $5.00. Alejandro, the manager, explained "the bank made a mistake." He said he would correct the mistake but after two months, he did not. The food was satisfactory but the service was slow.

2 Eggs with ham and home fries is $6.50 and a Starbucks labeled coffee that should be $1.99 is $3. Total for two eggs over easy with home fries and a skinny dollar store piece of ham with coffee and tax is $10.00. Keep in mind the sign out front says two eggs, toast and any side $4.49!! The owner talked me out of bagels because they were double the price of any bagel place I have ever been too in my life wanted to charge me $4 for a tiny (smallest sized tube of cream cheese) if I ordered 1/2 a dozen bagels. Insane in the membrane. Food was ok because it's hard to mess up eggs, home fries and a tiny processed piece of dollar store ham. seriously they are blessed by the gods of expensive things cause they seemed to have steady tourist foot traffic. Next time I drive by I will smile knowing its a tourist trap $

I am a local and after reading several of the reviews for sunshine bagel, I thought in all fairness, I would add my comments . This place is a decent neighborhood eatery. Though I generally come only for coffee and bagels, when I have had a meal here, I have had no complaints. I think the latte's are as good as most dedicated coffee joints and better than many. Pixie is the life of the party and as the previous review said...she does indeed run circles around the other girls who are decades younger. Definitely an asset to the joint! There aren't too many places along the beach where you can have breakfast and then walk out to the water ....so I'm glad it's here. Cheers! TD

The food here is delicious an that's the only reason I keep coming back! The service is absolutely terrible weather your dinning in or waiting for take out. I work in the food industry an can't believe how this place is run.

2 stars for the yummy bagel, but that was the only yummy thing about it.... 20 minutes to get our water and a coffee (really bad coffee) and nearly an hour to get our meals -bagel and egg sandwiches. The service was beyond slow.

On a beautiful October weekend, we decided to drive through A1A for my mother in laws birthday and hold and behold.... SUNSHINE BAGELS. I love this place, it's has a cafeteria feel to it, yet the food was absolutely delish. The bagels were big and fresh and the service was friendly.

Outstanding location & very good, affordable breakfast. Sunshine Bagels offers indoor & outdoor (4 tables) seating & is located on A1A right next to Hillsboro Inlet Park. I've only had breakfast here, but it's always been delicious. I enjoy the bacon, egg & cheddar sandwich on a toasted & scooped everything bagel & my husband loves the omelets. We both always get grits & being from Virginia, we're basically experts when it comes to grits. So you can trust me when I say these grits are superb. Another thing I love is they put International Delight's flavored creamers (vanilla, Irish cream & hazelnut) on the table along with the half & half. The people are really nice & there's free wifi inside. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it can be a tiny bit slow on weekend mornings sometimes, so just sit back, relax & enjoy your companions, the view and/or free wifi. If you live here year-round, like me, you know that as the summer months approach, the service in all of our favorite places will speed up.

Stopped in for breakfast while on vacation. Had the Irish eggs benedict and it was awesome. The holidays was creamy and the Eggs were poached perfectly. but the coffee was just ok and they didn't have Cafe Con Leche

In for vaca. We would stop for breakfast. The coffee was horrible. I asked for a blueberry bagel, they don't carry blueberry bagels. The hash browns were old. The eggs were bland. I'd rather of went to dunkin donuts for coffee and a blueberry donut.

Decent food and a quick bite. Very friendly staff. Home made clam chowder. Cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. Fries were cooked and crispy. My complaint: plastic utensils and foam plates. These are clogging the world and should be used sparingly. They use them even if you dine in. It costs your business more money! 86 em! Then I'll give you 5 stars.

This place brings the mediocre hard! So so bagels with lackadaisical service. If your close to her there are really no other options but this place inspires me to drive 7-8 miles for other options

My boyfriend and I just happened to drive by this cute little place and stop for breakfast. So glad we did!!! We both ordered an omelet and agreed that they were the best omelette we have had outside of our own kitchen. We also split the banana pancakes. They were also pretty good. Our waitress Nicole was so friendly and helpful with the menu. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be visiting here again

This is place is perfect for the location. We have a condo in Fort Lauderdale and ride our bikes up to Pompano Beach and back. This place is right next to a park that has beautiful views of the in-let and light house. The place itself is extremely clean and neat. I was extremely impressed with this. Also the people that work there are very attentive and friendly. They make you feel like a regular on your first trip. They have a typical fare of burgers and fries and breakfast. Nothing special about the food. Probably frozen burgers, etc., but it is done well and a nice place to relax and recharge.

I was shocked when I read the bad reviews but it does make sense. I live right down the road and my best friend came for a visit from Chicago. We wanted something quick, close, and somewhat cheap to eat for breakfast before we hit the beach. The place wasn't crowded but there were some out of towners lurking around. I ordered the garlic bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel was pretty fresh and the cream cheese was good, I'm not sure about paying extra for it though. The service was good and the place was clean, what more can you ask for from a little bagel shop? Sure, these aren't gourmet by any means but you can take your bagel for a walk in Hilsboro Inlet and check out the lighthouse. The view is amazing if you can snag a bench right in the inlet. I'll deal with the mediocre bagels for that view.

I live in this tiny beach neighborhood in Hillsboro Shores. We have a little market, a pizza joint and chinese food, that's it. So we were thrilled when we heard about a breakfast spot opening. If they had even put an once of thought into making this place good, they would have had the entire neighborhood including the mile behind it. I think a hospital has a warmer decor, the food is TERRIBLE and the staff is inept. Just go to the little Macdonald's market a block over and get a sandwhich and a coffee there. As I have done for 25 years!

I am totally puzzled by the reviews! This place is a gem! While on Ft. Lauderdale Beach for a week, I rented a car to be able to drive around. We stumbled on sunshine bagels right before the bridge at lighthouse point and were starving. So we ordered the Farmer's omelette, a stack of pancakes, coffees, and toast. The owners Denise and her husband were so sweet and helpful. The food came out and the portions are enormous! The omelette was stuffed with delicious veggies and the hash browns were perfection. The pancakes were super fluffy too. We loved the food so much we drove back up there for breakfast 3 days later. The drive is about 15 mins from where were staying on the beach, but the food and service made the trip completely worth while! Oh and try the rugalahs sold on the counter. Denise said a local Jewish baker makes them! Insanely good! Definitely a place ill go back to every time I'm in the area!

We were lured in by the "hot bagels" sign, only to have one of the worst experiences you could have at breakfast. Ordered bacon and cheddar omelet, was served American cheese. Instead of making a new omelet, they scraped wrong cheese off and microwaved new cheese on top...just like a two year old would have done. Hot bagel? Nope, not even toasted like I asked for. Not happy I payed the 75 cent extra charge for the scallion cream cheese. When asked how my meal was, I simply told them. I didn't want anything in exchange. The manager calls me back into the store as I'm exiting to remedy to situation. He offers to write a free breakfast on their business card. He couldn't find a pen that worked, told me he would remember my face next time...hahaha yaaaaa right! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, try moms kitchen off federal highway
